60th & 75th Wedding Anniversary Gifts (Diamond)

Why are there two numbers in the title, 65 and 75?

Are two different anniversaries really celebrated with one symbol?

Well, here's how it goes.

Up until 1897, only the 75th wedding anniversary of a couple was known as their diamond wedding. Then, Queen Victoria celebrated her 60th year on the British throne - a milestone that's referred to as the Diamond Jubilee of a ruler. Ever since then, both the 75th and the 60th wedding anniversary of a couple are believed to be symbolized by diamonds.

And let's be honest here for a second: that's not a bad thing, right?

You can't have too many diamonds in your life, that's for sure. :)

As a symbol, diamonds represent strength and durability. Even the name of the gemstone reflects that: it's derived from the Greek adamas, which literally means "unbreakable."

Now, although the only gift that's perfect for the occasion is (you guessed it!) something with diamonds in it, let's check out some extra ideas to play around with the symbol. :)
